Cinema Misfits Podcast, Episode 77: Carrie, Room 237, and Gravity

Ep-77-6n90
6 ‘n 90!  Da Man reviews six films in ninety seconds.

Carrie-2
Carrie.  Watching the remake of Carrie is a bit like being locked in a closet with a bunch of dull people for ninety minutes.

237-use
Room 237.  If Stanley Kubrick had wanted to make room 237 in The Shining really scary, he would have filled it with film critics and conspiracy-theory nuts arguing about the meaning of his film.

Gravity-use
Gravity.  The Misfits are unable to resist the pull of this no-nonsense story of survival set in space.

Thanks for listening! We’ll be back in three weeks.

  1. Yeah, Room 237 was a little boring and went on a bit long, but if you can hunt down the You Tube video of the documentary about how all of Kubrick’s movies are apologies for filming the fake moon landing for NASA, it is well worth seeing and makes a strangely convincing case. I’d put on the link, but every time it goes up Warner Brothers takes it down with its unapproved usage of Kubrick movies.

Like you guys and everyone else who saw it I agree that Gravity is one of the rare movies that need to be seen on the big screen. here are my thoughts on it… http://pablochiste.wordpress.com/2013/10/03/in-space-no-one-can-hear-your-bowel-movements-gravity/
